bndnm gnr8r is my current pop solo project centered around music that explores the complex relationships between religion, identity, and mental health. Using innovative storytelling and diverse artistic expression, I aim to inspire dialogue, empathy, and reflection on the role of faith in shaping personal and cultural outcomes. I believe humor is an effective way of approaching uncomfortable subjects and aim to express that view through music, visuals, and social media.
The artistic vision is to create a body of work that intertwines the profound influence of religion on identity and mental health using narrative techniques seen in works like “To Pimp a Butterfly” by Kendrick Lamar, “Inside” by Bo Burnham, and the film “JoJo Rabbit.” By weaving together music, visual art, and narrative storytelling, the goal is to explore how religion shapes personal and collective identity, influences mental well-being, and intersects with issues of culture, generation, and society. Key themes include identity and belief, mental health and spirtituality, and social/cultural commentary. The artistic approach is to use multidisplinary storytelling, empathy and authenticity, and humor and reflection to deliver narratives about complex personal and universal struggles.
A new single releases on the first Friday of each month until the entire album is released in spring of 2025. Check out some of the singles below:
